Tesla have finally taken the wraps off their highly anticipated electric SUV, the Model X. Taking to the stage, CEO Elon Musk stated his pride in the Tesla team that have worked so hard to make Model X a reality since it was first unveiled as a concept in 2013.

Tesla Now Made in Europe, for Europe

Tesla has opened its new factory dedicated to supply European customers with Model S. The factory, located in Tilburg, streamlines the production process for European deliveries bringing more customers their Model S, faster.

The Tilburg Factory builds Model S from the very same USA manufactured components as used in Tesla’s US factory in Fremont, California. In Tilburg, assembly includes installation of the battery pack, powertrain and rear axle, and the cars first firmware upload.

Super Pole Shoot-out for Formula E

Pole position for this season’s Formula E races will be decided in a five-car, 15-minute shoot-out rather than more traditional qualifying sessions.

As was the case in season one, the drivers will be placed into four groups of five by means of a lottery. However, these sessions have now been shortened to just six minutes. This means the drivers will only have time for an out-lap, a warm-up lap at 170kW and one flying lap at 200kW.

New 30kWh Nissan LEAF Provides 155 Mile Range

Nissan has confirmed the 2016 Model Year (MY16) LEAF electric car will be available with a 25% larger battery pack of 30kWh, capable of providing 155 miles from a single charge.

The new 30kWh battery is at the heart of the improved range and should take the electric car to the next level for Nissan. It’s closest rival will be the excellent Kia Soul EV, which sports a healthy 27kWh battery and 132 miles range. Nissan’s development will see the LEAF retake the crown for electric vehicles under £30,000.

Toyota have taken the wraps off the fourth generation new Toyota Prius, ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show.
