Today, July 11th 2013, marks the start of the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013 (which happens to be the 20th anniversary of the event). Things are already getting underway with crowds already gathered to see the many stands that cumulate at Goodwood, put on by manufacturers with grand displays.
Goodwood plays host to several car launches every year, and we’re sure this year will be no different. As we previously wrote about (link), Renault in particular will be putting on a large display of their cars, with many noteworthy classic racing cars as well as the exciting Twizy F1 and ZOE electric cars (link).
Aside from Goodwood, elsewhere in Europe, preparations are being made as we write for an announcement by Formula E. Their official twitter entry posts an intriguing image of a SPARK Formula E car being unwrapped ready for display later in the day with the accompanying text, “A little clue ahead of today’s announcement…“. Just what the announcement will be is anyone’s guess, but our thoughts turn to a major european city being named as another host to the championship in next year’s inaugural season. Or, perhaps it is an announcement of another team signing on to participate. Speculation aside, we’re looking forward to finding out as the announcement happens later today.
We’ll be keeping tabs on the Formula E announcement while we enjoy the delights Goodwood has to offer.
