Following Renault’s recent launch of the Zoe extended range with the Z.E.40 battery, the French firm has confirmed they will offer the very same battery technology in their popular electric Kangoo Van Z.E.
Renault hasn’t released full details, spec or range predictions yet and these will follow on 13th January 2017. However, the Zoe Z.E.40 provides a good indication of what we might expect. First and foremost, range should double from the current Kangoo Z.E’s 106-miles to around 212-miles on the NEDC test cycle. In practice, this should mean a practical range of around 150-miles. Performance and payload aren’t expected to alter or improve.
In the Zoe Z.E.40 battery, Renault improved the kWh capacity from 22 to 41kWh – or a near 100% increase, with minimal additional weight and managing to package the battery in the same physical space.
More information about the New Kangoo Z.E. will be provided on 13 January 2017.
