This year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (22-25 February 2016) is one of Europe’s most important communications shows. BMW has unveiled its research project, “Vehicular CrowdCell”.

Using the popular “crowd” buzzword, BMW’s project extends on last year’s “Vehicle Small Cell” that offered a mobile femtocell – a very small mobile phone base station connected to the phone network via the Internet – that optimises mobile radio reception inside vehicles with additional capacity and coverage of mobile networks.

Evolt Helps 203020 Become UK’s Largest Electric Taxi Operator

The Evolt Electric Vehicle (EV) charge point infrastructure supplied and installed by APT Controls at the Dundee taxi company, “203020” has become an ideal model for cab firms looking to go electric, according to its CEO, David Young. 203020 is increasing its fleet to 100 fully electric vehicles, which will make it the largest EV taxi fleet in the UK. Dundee along with seven other cities is currently aiming for a slice of a £20 million funding pot to become the UK’s electric taxi capital.
