Congratulations are in order to Shane Turpin who won the eight-lap Indianapolis FIM eRoadRacing World Cup race, yesterday afternoon Sunday 18th August, by 13.733 seconds over Icon Brammo team mate Eric Bostrom. Kenyon Kluge finished in third position.
Meanwhile, back in Europe at Oschersleben in Germany, congratulations are also in order for number 59 rider Ho Chi Fung who claimed pole position on Friday’s qualifying and went on to claim a victorious finish on race day (Satuday 17th) despite the weather trying it’s best to hinder proceedings. 2nd and 3rd places went to #91 Su Rong Zai (team mate to Ho Chi Fung) and Sam West riding the Agni 12 respectively.
Shane Turpin (#14 Icon Brammo Brammo Empulse RR) winner at Indianapolis said,
“I got a little bit of a lead, and all I could think about was, ”Man, just keep it, maintain and keep it steady,’ and I kept looking over my shoulder to see where (runner-up Eric Bostrom) was. I just wanted to finish this time. Laguna Seca kind of bit me, and the bike shut off. We maintained a good lead and brought it home. It was very exciting. I was hammer down. All of us are like that. We just want to win. The bottom line with the Brammo team is incredible. Anything I ask them to do – bike, setup. anything – they fix it. We have just been jelling very well, and obviously it shows.”
Ho Chi Fung (#59 Zongshen AC) said of his win at Oschersleben,
“Racing here was fun but I know the bike is capable of so much more. After the crash in Valencia, our strategy is to finish a safe race rather than pushing the limits. We have been working on improving the bike with one eye on the World final where will meet the big American teams but with the rain and track conditions this afternoon, it wasn’t worth taking too much of a risk here.
I am very happy with the bikes performance. My team have worked hard to prepare the bike and it worked really well. I am very happy to take home the winners trophy for all of them”
