New Smaller Battery Tesla Model S 60 and 60D Revealed

Tesla has introduced a new cheaper version of the Model S, the Model S 60 and 60D. The chief component that has been cheapened is the battery, which has been electronically limited to 60kWh. Likewise, the price has also diminished to £53,400 or from £410 a month.

The new model replaces the 70D that became available in April 2015 and it must be said that when compared to the 60 and 60D, it seems that the 70D was better value, as it provided more range for just a few thousand pounds more…

Pre-orders began today for Tesla’s much awaited next car, Model 3. However, do those would-be customers actually know what they’ll be getting? Does it matter? Here’s a quick look at what we know, according to Tesla sources and Elon Musk’s cryptic tweets, plus a little of what we “think” we know, but that has not yet been confirmed.

1. Overall.

Model 3 will have a range of approximately 200 miles. Whether that is an official range or an actual range is yet to be announced, but reckon on the base spec car sporting something between 40-60kWh and a top-spec car possibly sporting big brother’s Model S 90kWh battery…

Tesla has opened its new factory dedicated to supply European customers with Model S. The factory, located in Tilburg, streamlines the production process for European deliveries bringing more customers their Model S, faster.

The Tilburg Factory builds Model S from the very same USA manufactured components as used in Tesla’s US factory in Fremont, California. In Tilburg, assembly includes installation of the battery pack, powertrain and rear axle, and the cars first firmware upload.
