Warrantywise, the UK’s specialist extended warranty provider has today announced that it is the first to offer an aftermarket warranty cover for electric vehicles (EVs).
Many of the electric vehicles already on UK roads have had their warranty’s expire and with the potentially very high cost of repair to parts replacement, particularly for the electric drive components, Warrantywise has devised a specially tailored product for EV owners. However, this warranty does not cover electric vehicle battery repairs, stating the reason being due to, “existing extended cover offered by manufacturers on this highly specialist, technical and expensive component.”
Warrantywise CEO Lawrence Whittaker said:
“We have long supported the technological tour de force that is the electric vehicle sector, and we are delighted to see their impressive rise in popularity across the UK. Having studied the repair and parts replacement costs of EVs, it is clear that there is a market and a call for extended warranty, and I am proud that Warrantywise is the first in the UK, perhaps the world, to offer such a product.”
Quentin Willson added:
“Having owned several EVs over the last five years, and driven all the available models, it’s time to bust the urban myths about electric cars. EVs work well for many drivers, and cars like the Nissan Leaf, Tesla Model S, Renault Zoe, Citroen C-Zero, BMW i3 and i8 are reliable, popular and fashionable. At Warrantywise we’re reassuring used EV drivers that there’s now no such thing as ‘repair anxiety’.”
The electric vehicle warranty from Warrantywise is available now, with special introductory prices starting at £55 per month, with full details at www.warrantywise.co.uk
